El Pescador Belize
Few destinations in the world rival the saltwater flats of Belize, and El Pescador Lodge sits at the heart of it all. Located on North Ambergris Caye, El Pescador has been a benchmark for serious fly anglers for decades — offering access to some of the most productive permit, bonefish, and tarpon fisheries in the Caribbean.
The Fishery
Belize is widely regarded as the permit capital of the world, and the flats surrounding El Pescador are a big reason why. Expect sight-fishing opportunities across expansive turtle grass flats, mangrove edges, and deeper channels that hold fish year-round. Whether you’re chasing your first permit or hunting a grand slam, the water here delivers.
- Permit — world-class sight fishing on open flats and channel edges
- Bonefish — abundant and willing, perfect for all skill levels
- Tarpon — juvenile fish in the lagoons and migratory giants in season
- Snook & Barracuda — bonus species along mangrove shorelines
The Lodge
El Pescador combines authentic Belizean character with the amenities serious anglers expect. Comfortable waterfront accommodations, exceptional food, and a staff that has been guiding these flats for generations make it a destination worth returning to year after year.
