Carp Stew – Carp Fly

The Carp Stew is a compact, high-trigger carp fly built to get eaten when fish are locked in and feeding tight to the bottom.

Tied on a Daiichi 2546 hook in size #8.

This pattern combines a dense, buggy body with rubber legs and subtle flash to create a lifelike profile that constantly moves in the water. The weighted head gets it down quickly while keeping the hook riding correctly, and the materials continue to pulse and breathe even on a slow crawl or dead drift. It mimics a range of natural food sources, making it effective when carp are feeding selectively.
