Appalachian Bucktail - AA

Appalachian Bucktails come from whitetail deer harvested right here in West Virginia during the most recent deer season. Each tail is hand-tanned and dyed by the Natives crew in our fly shop, producing premium materials for spinning up some truly killer flies.

Please note the grading system below — each grade is determined by the average hair length of the tail.

Grades:

• AAA: 4" or longer hair fibers — Sold in-store only

• AA: 3"–4" hair fibers (About 80% of our tails) — Available online

• A: 1.5"–3" hair fibers (or damaged AA/AAA tails) — Sold in-store only
